About Olara Design Build
Our History
After 5 years of commercial large scale development in NYC, Ragnar founded OLARA out of a entrepreneurial passion for more hands on design and direct labor construction.
Over the last three years, OLARA has grown from residential remodeling to ground up custom home building and commercial remodeling, integrating design and construction teams that now consists of 2 full time in-house architects and 12 multidisciplinary tradesmen.

Founder - Ragnar Oelsner
Leadership isn't directing from the back but pulling forward from the front. Aside from overseeing creative design processes and construction execution, you'll also find Ragnar on site in a skid steer / excavator as our in-house heavy equipment operator.
Outside of work, Ragnar can usually be found running a weekend fitness/wellness club with friends, on the water surfing/kiteboarding or working on Man of the Occident (MOTO), a charity focused on cultural renewal and community building.

A Licensed Architect for over 40 years in the state of New York, Nick has extensive experience in full home construction, commercial remodeling, and subdivision planning.
